Hanging Bridges

This immersive 2-hour guided journey takes you through 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) of pristine cloud forest trails. The highlight is a series of 8 spectacular suspension bridges, which are widely considered the largest and longest in Central America.

The Experience

  • A Bird’s-Eye View: You’ll walk directly through the canopy at heights ranging from 12 to 60 meters (36 to 180 feet). These bridges offer a unique perspective on the “hidden” world of the forest roof, where 90% of the forest’s biodiversity lives.
  • The Bridges: The spans range from 50 to 170 meters (150 to 560 feet) in length. Notably, these bridges are 1.5 meters wide, making them the most stable and comfortable hanging bridges in Costa Rica.
  • Guided Insights: Accompanied by a professional naturalist guide, you’ll learn about the complex ecosystem of the cloud forest. Guides typically use high-definition spotting scopes to help you find elusive wildlife like the Resplendent Quetzal, three-toed sloths, or howler monkeys.
  • Flora & Fauna: The tour focuses on the incredible variety of epiphytes (plants that grow on other plants) including orchids, bromeliads, and ferns that drape the ancient trees.
